Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced the launch of a new qualitative initiative to provide its services directly to the elderly and individuals with chronic diseases at their homes.
The initiative aims to facilitate access to the authority's services for senior citizens and patients.
Specialised staff will visit beneficiaries at their homes using a specially equipped vehicle to complete the required transactions on-site, SRTA said.
Eng. Youssef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, revealed that a mobile unit has been prepared with trained staff skilled in providing humane and professional interaction with the elderly and patients, ensuring efficient service and smooth procedures.
The new initiative, he added, covers all transactions related to owners of old taxi numbers, such as data updates and other official procedures, which can now be completed without leaving home.
Beneficiaries can contact the authority and submit the required documents electronically or by phone.
Al Othmani explained that eligibility for the initiative requires a medical report confirming the health condition of the applicant and the absence of a legal agent or representative who can review the authority on his behalf.
The request must be submitted by the beneficiary himself or by a first-degree relative.
Specialised staff will then visit the beneficiary's location to complete all necessary procedures. SRTA stated that the service can be accessed by contacting the call centre at 600525252.
