At least 10 people died and 14 were injured after a reactor explosion triggered a fire at a Sigachi Industries unit in India's Telangana state on Monday, Business Standard reported, citing news agency PTI.
The pharmaceutical company's shares fell more than 13% to their lowest in a month and were on course to post their steepest fall since mid-March 2024.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. Sigachi Industries did not respond to requests for comment.
The incident occurred at the Sigachi Chemical Industry unit in Telangana, Business Standard reported, adding that 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and were engaged in firefighting operations.
Sigachi services various industries, including pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and chemical.
