Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) is implementing the first phase of its infrastructure development project, based on which Al Intifadah Road will be closed towards Al Corniche Road between Friday, June 27, through Sunday, July 27, 2025.
SRTA explained that this came as part of its comprehensive plan to develop infrastructure and improve road quality in the Emirate of Sharjah with the aim of enhancing traffic flow and boosting the efficiency of the road network in vital areas in line with the Government of Sharjah’s strategic orientations aimed at providing a safe and sustainable transportation environment.
The project includes closing the designated section of Al Intifadah Road and diverting traffic to pre-prepared alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion.
A map showing the alternative routes including Jamal Abdul Nasser Street and a number of internal streets in Al Majaz 2 area was posted on SRTA’s social media platforms.
SRTA called on road users to co-operate and abide by the traffic instructions posted on the road signs around the project. It also urged drivers to use the announced alternative routes and avoid the area where the project is being carried out.
The latest updates can be followed through SRTA’s website and official social media accounts, it said, adding that the attached QR code can also be scanned to obtain details of alternative routes.
