Sharjah offers free driving licence to top 10 high school graduates

The Sharjah Police have initiated the "Excellence License" programme, which is designed for the top ten high school graduates from government schools within the emirate.
The initiative provides the beneficiaries with free driving licences, from the time the file is opened until the final licence is issued.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration between the Sharjah Police Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, the Ministry of Education, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, the Sharjah Driving Institute, and the Belhasa Driving Institute.
Brigadier Khalid Mohammed Al Kay, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, emphasised that the initiative's objective is to empower distinguished students and provide them with the necessary support to transition into independent living and assume responsibility in both university and professional contexts.
Furthermore, the initiative would cover the costs of various expenses, including but not limited to: eye examinations, training courses, theoretical and practical tests, and license issuance fees.
The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department has launched an additional initiative tailored to children of Sharjah Police personnel from high school graduates.
The initiative provides them with a reduction in training fees of up to 50 per cent. It will continue until end of the summer vacation period.
He further noted that the two initiatives are part of a fruitful partnership between government entities and educational institutions with the aim of promoting a culture of safe driving at an early age.
They are committed to the fostering of a culture of excellence and the cultivation of a conscious and responsible generation.
It was further asserted that these institutions serve as a paradigm for the enhancement of the educational process, through the integration of academic excellence with qualitative rewards that facilitate the exploration of future prospects for students.
