In a joint operation named "Bottom of Darkness," the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Sharjah Police General Command, working hand-in-hand with the Abu Dhabi Police General Command and with the Federal Anti-Narcotics General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, achieved a resounding success in thwarting an attempt to distribute over 3,500,000 Captagon pills, totalling approximately 585 kilograms and estimated to have a street value of over Dhs19 million.
The operation was a preemptive strike against the criminal gang whose movements had been under close surveillance.
The gang had endeavoured to employ camouflage tactics in an attempt to conceal the narcotics and evade the authorities.
Police display packets of seized pills.
However, their endeavour proved unsuccessful following the intensification of security measures that led to foiling their plan in its cradle.
The Sharjah Police urge members of the community, encouraging them to enhance their collaboration with the relevant authorities and to report any suspected drug-related activities.
These reports can be made via the toll-free number 8004654 or via email to [email protected].
