A sixth round of nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington planned for this weekend has been cancelled, mediator Oman said Saturday, following waves of Israeli attacks on Iran.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi's statement came a day after Israel launched a sweeping air offensive against Iran, killing commanders and scientists and bombing nuclear sites in a stated bid to stop it building an atomic weapon.
"The Iran US-talks scheduled to be held in Muscat this Sunday will not now take place," Albusaidi said in a post on X, adding that "diplomacy and dialogue remain the only pathway to lasting peace."
