An individual has been ordered to pay Dhs90,000 in compensation to another individual, as he caused injuries to the latter as result of his negligence and failure to adhere to traffic regulations.
According to the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court, the defendant drove his vehicle on the road without regard for the safety of others, and this was due to the fact that he was distracted while driving, which led to the accident.
The consequences of the incident included a spinal injury and a permanent disability estimated at approximately 40 per cent of the spinal cord's potential benefits.
The plaintiff initiated legal proceedings against the defendant, seeking compensation for the material, moral and ethical damages he suffered as a result of the crime committed against him.
The total sum requested was Dhs100,000, in addition to legal interest at a rate of 12% from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment is received, as well as fees and expenses.

Consequently, he received medical treatment and sustained multiple injuries, resulting in significant damages to his person and the loss of his financial income.

This report concluded that the plaintiff's injury resulted in a spinal injury and permanent disability estimated at approximately 40 per cent of the spinal benefit.
The Court also stated that the injuries sustained by the complainant constitute material damage estimated by the court at Dhs80,000, and that the injury caused the complainant pain and a feeling of sorrow, which constitutes moral damage estimated by the court at Dhs10,000.
