A minor rear-end collision took place between two school buses in Al Muwaihat area of Ajman. No fatalities were reported among the students. Police patrols rushed to the scene of the collision and began securing the area and regulating traffic.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid Bin Hindi, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, the operations room received a report of a rear-end collision between two school buses as students were returning from school in Al Muwaihat area.
A sketch of the collision showed that the bus in the back struck the bus ahead of it because it was tailgating it but the two buses collided at low speed.
The National Ambulance, which conducted medical tests and checked on the students’ health as a precautionary measure, confirmed that none of the students sustained any injuries.
The police took the necessary action against the driver who caused the accident.
Bin Hindi stressed Ajman Police’s commitment to ensuring the safety of students and all road users, calling on motorists in general and school bus drivers in particular to abide by traffic rules and leave sufficient distance between vehicles to avoid accidents and protect students from injury.
