Light to moderate rain fell on Saturday in various areas in the Northern Emirates, due to an eastern surface low-pressure system, a western surface high-pressure system, and an upper-air high-pressure extension, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM reported cumulus cloud formation with rainfall and active winds with speeds up to 40 km/h in eastern and northern regions, stirring dust and sandstorms.
Rains also fell in Khor Fakkan, Al Rafisah Dam/Wadi Shie, Wadi Al-Hilo, Al Suhub Rest Area, Shees-Al-Nadwa road in Dubai, Al-Nahwah, Al-Madam in Sharjah, and Mirbah, Qidfa/Al-Qarya, and Al-Hayl in Fujairah.
The NCM predicts continued rainfall on Sunday and Monday in eastern areas, with possible fog formation.
On Sunday, temperatures will rise, according to the NCM, with clear to partly cloudy weather and potential cumulus clouds leading to rainfall in eastern and northern regions.
At night and on early Monday it will be humid in coastal and inland areas, with possible fog and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, occasionally active with speeds ranging between 10 - 25 km/h, amounting to 40 km/h and the sea will be calm in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman. Monday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with potential cumulus clouds and rainfall in eastern and northern areas.
At night and on early Tuesday it will be humid, especially in the west, with possible fog. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, occasionally active and stirring dust, with speeds ranging between 10-25 km/h, amounting to 35 km/h and the sea will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
