Light to heavy rain fell across various areas in the northern emirates on Sunday due to the impact of an eastern surface low-pressure system, a western surface high-pressure system, and an upper-air high-pressure extension.
Rain was reported on Dibba-Masafi road, Al Halat, Al Ghounah, Wadi Al Abadla in Fujairah, Masafi in Ras Al Khaimah, and Khor Fakkan in Sharjah.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts continued rainfall on Monday in eastern and northern regions, with possible fog or light fog in some coastal and inland areas, particularly in the west.
Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will be light to moderate, occasionally active and stirring daytime dust, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, amounting to 35 km/h and the waves will be calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Tuesday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, especially in the east and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, and occasionally active, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, amounting to 35 km/h, while the waves will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Wednesday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy, with light to moderate southeasterly winds, which will be occasionally active and stirring dust, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, amounting to 40 km/h and the waves will be calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Thursday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy, with light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds which will be occasionally active and stirring dust, with speeds will ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, amounting to 35 km/h and the waves will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The NCM urged caution during rainfall in eastern areas, advising the public to avoid valley streams and water accumulation sites.
It also emphasised following safety measures while driving and staying updated on weather developments through official media channels.
