The United Arab Emirates has been awarded the "Full Transparency" rating by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the third consecutive year.
This recognition comes as part of the IAEA’s 2024 Safeguards Report, which highlights the UAE’s complete adherence to international non-proliferation agreements, safeguards, and the peaceful nature of its nuclear energy programme.
This achievement underscores that all nuclear materials in the UAE are used exclusively for peaceful purposes.
It reflects the effectiveness of the UAE’s regulatory infrastructure, its unwavering commitment to transparency, and its compliance with international nuclear non-proliferation obligations.
The IAEA’s report is based on information provided by the UAE under its non-proliferation agreements, including details about nuclear facilities, operations, reports on nuclear materials and technologies, and additional voluntary information shared by the UAE.
The agency then verifies the accuracy of this information through inspections and assessments.
