President, VP and Rulers pardon over 2,900 prisoners ahead of Eid Al Adha

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional institutions on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed also pledged to cover all fines imposed on the inmates, who had been sentenced for a variety of offences.
Sheikh Mohamed regularly orders pardons for prisoners on occasions such as Eid Al Adha, with the aim of providing the released inmates with an opportunity to start a new life, contribute once again to their families and communities, and promote the values of forgiveness and compassion in society.

Dubai Ruler
In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, has ordered the release of 985 inmates of various nationalities from Dubai's correctional and punitive establishments, ahead of Eid Al Adha.
Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, said that Sheikh Mohammed's order to pardon the inmates reflects his keenness to bring happiness to their families and give them an opportunity to start a new life and reintegrate themselves into society.
Al Humaidan further said that Dubai Public Prosecution, in collaboration with Dubai Police, has commenced the legal procedures to implement His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's order.

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Tuesday ordered the release of 439 inmates serving their sentences at Sharjah Punitive and Correctional Institution, who met the pardon conditions and were of good conduct, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Fujairah Ruler
His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has ordered the release of 112 prisoners from punitive and correctional institutions in Fujairah on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
The inmates of various nationalities were selected based on good conduct and behaviour.
The gesture is part of His Highness' keenness to give prisoners an opportunity to start a new life and bring joy to their families.
Major-General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of the Fujairah Police, thanked Sheikh Hamad for this gesture, hoping that it will enable the released prisoners to start new lives, contribute to their community, and show good behaviour.

Ras Al Khaimah Ruler
His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered the release of 411 prisoners ahead of Eid Al Adha.
The prisoners' release comes as part of Shaikh Saud's keenness to give pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life and bring about stability to their families.
On this occasion, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, directed to proceed with the necessary legal procedures to implement Sheikh Saud's decision.
The Attorney-General of Ras Al Khaimah, Hasan Saeed Mehaimed, said that this noble gesture of Sheikh Saud reflects his keenness to give the inmates the opportunity to reintegrate into society and bring happiness to their families and loved ones.
