Gaza doctor who lost nine of his children in an Israeli airstrike has died from wounds sustained in the same attack, a foreign news agency reports, citing local health officials. His death leaves his 11-year-old son as the sole survivor of the attack.
Dr Hamdi Al Najjar was critically injured when Israeli forces bombed his home on May 24 in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis.
His wife and pediatrician Alaa Al Najjar was devastated to receive the charred bodies of her nine children at the Nasser Medical Complex while she was on duty.
Her only surviving child, Adam, and her husband, Dr Hamdi, were both injured.
