Rashid Center receives FC Barcelona delegates

In a visit that reflected both humanitarian values and sporting spirit, the Rashid Center for People of Determination has welcomed a distinguished delegation from FC Barcelona.

The delegation comprised Xavier Puig i Hernández, Board Member and Director responsible for women’s football, and Joan Soler i Ferré, Board Member and Director responsible for youth football at FC Barcelona.

The delegation was warmly received and accompanied on a tour of the centre by Ahmed Hashem Khoory, Founder of the Rashid Center, and Maryam Othman, General Director of the Center.

The visitors were given a comprehensive overview of the wide range of services and programmes the centre offers to over 300 students with various abilities, covering educational, vocational, artistic, and sports development. During the visit, both sides reached a preliminary agreement to establish a future cooperation partnership between the Rashid Center and the FC Barcelona Foundation in Spain.

The delegation also extended an official invitation to Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates Airlines and Chairman of the Board of Rashid Center, to visit FC Barcelona in Spain.

Additionally, it was agreed that members of the FC Barcelona team would plan a future visit to Dubai and the Rashid Center at the earliest opportunity.

The visit also included a delightful friendly match between the Center’s students, with active participation from the guests.

The match was filled with joy and enthusiasm and left a strong impression on the visitors.

At the conclusion of the visit, the students presented handcrafted gifts from the Center’s workshop department, while Maryam Othman presented the guests with a trophy on behalf of the Rashid Center, expressing heartfelt appreciation for their visit and support.
