The National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, in collaboration with RAK Police, successfully carried out a medical evacuation on Saturday, for a 70-year-old man who suffered from severe exhaustion due to heatstroke and fatigue.
Upon receiving the distress call, the team located the man in an area inaccessible by land, so he was airlifted using a search and rescue helicopter to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
RAK Police urged visitors to mountainous areas to adhere to public safety guidelines and follow necessary preventive measures to ensure their safety. They encouraged the public to contact the search and rescue emergency hotline (995) to report any emergencies requiring assistance or intervention.
