Sharjah Police arrest errant driver in less than 6 hours of hit-and-run incident

Sharjah Police arrested a driver in less than 6 hours after he was involved in a hit-and-run incident on Airport Road, according to Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police. He said that the driver suddenly swerved his vehicle, colliding with three cars before fleeing the scene.

Colonel Al Ali stated that the errant motorist was apprehended in record time, thanks to the swift response, smart systems, and surveillance cameras which helped identify and track the vehicle. He added that there were no injuries reported to the other motorists involved in the accident. Al Ali emphasised that fleeing the scene of an accident is a violation of the federal law, punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine ranging from Dhs50,000 to Dhs100,000, or both.
