Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Cases Court ordered a man to pay Dhs480,000 to another, following a settlement agreement in which the first acknowledged owing the amount and agreed to pay Dhs10,000 monthly until full settlement, but he defaulted on the payments.
In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against another, demanding the latter be compelled to pay Dhs480,000, along with covering court fees, expenses, and attorney’s fees.
The plaintiff stated that, based on a settlement agreement, the appellee admitted to owing him Dhs480,000, with a commitment to pay Dhs10,000 monthly until full settlement, but the appellee failed to make the required payments.
The court clarified that the plaintiff filed the lawsuit with the aforementioned claims and submitted the signed settlement agreement, and the appellee defaulted on the payments mentioned in the agreement.
Given the appellee’s absence and failure to present any defence or evidence to prove his innocence or clear his debt, the court ruled in favour of the plaintiff, ordering the appellee to pay the full amount of Dhs480,000.
