Armed Forces source of pride, strength, confidence for UAE: UAQ Ruler

    His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, affirmed that 6th May is a historic milestone and a spectacular national occasion celebrated by both the leadership and people of the UAE. 

“It marks the anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces under a single central command and a unified flag — a milestone accomplished by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his fellow founding leaders of the UAE,” said Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu'alla in a statement marking the 49th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces, which falls on 6th May each year. 

Sheikh Saud stated that, "Our Armed Forces have been the secure and fortified shield of the homeland since their establishment. They are a source of pride and confidence for the sons and residents of the UAE, and one of the most critical pillars upon which the Founding Fathers relied to strengthen the foundations of the Union, support the blessed march of our nation, and safeguard our achievements.’’ 

Sheikh Saud added, "Under the leadership and care of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, our Armed Forces have witnessed qualitative leaps and comprehensive development across various military units.

They have undergone a major transformation towards the advancement of sophisticated defense industries, which has further enhanced the UAE’s position in the field of defense industries driven by technological innovation. This underscores the pioneering role of the UAE military, granting it regional and international recognition, and enabling it to play an effective role in promoting global peace."

Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid continued, "On this immortal day in the nation’s memory, we recall the heroic epics of our loyal soldiers — the righteous martyrs who gave their pure souls in defense of religion, homeland, and justice. They have written a history of noble heroism and sacrifice, and their names will remain eternally honored and proud." 

In concluding his statement, Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu'alla extended salutations to the valiant Armed Forces, who remain steadfast in protecting the nation's security, preserving its prosperity and safeguarding its achievements. He prayed, "May Allah protect the United Arab Emirates and perpetuate its goodness, glory, and pride. Every year, our nation advances toward greater progress and prosperity."
