His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of Kalba University, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kalba University and Victoria International School in Sharjah. An agreement was also signed with the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation.
The ceremony took place at the university’s headquarters.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Najwa Mohammed Al Hosani, Director of Kalba University, and Dean Byers, CEO of Victoria International School Group.
The agreement aims to foster collaboration in physical education and sports, contributing to building a healthier and happier community. Both parties will work together to provide more opportunities for students of the College of Sports Sciences at Kalba University to expand their knowledge and enhance their skills.
It also seeks to elevate the skills and expertise of the educational community at Victoria International School.
The MoU establishes a partnership between Kalba University and Victoria International School to implement practical and academic programmes, initiatives, and projects.
It will provide support for specialised activities and events, organise lectures and workshops in diverse fields, and focus on training and qualifying students from the College of Sports Sciences to improve their skill levels and competencies.
This will enhance job opportunities for national cadres and coordinate efforts to support scientific research in physical education.
Academic expertise
Under the agreement, Kalba University will offer academic expertise and consultations to the educational community at Victoria International School in the fields of physical education and sports sciences. In return, the school will work to develop students’ academic and practical skills.
Both parties are committed to jointly organising sports events, championships, and community activities to achieve their shared goals and strategies in applied and training fields. They will also collaborate on marketing programmes, websites, and future proposals.
Alongside Sheikh Sultan the signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of Sharjah Asset Management, Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Public Works, Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Human Resources Department, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality; Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, several members of the Kalba University Board of Trustees and senior officials.
