His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, discussed various aspects of fraternal relations and ways to develop cooperation and joint action for the benefit of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
This came during Sheikh Mohamed’s reception at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi for the Lebanese President, who is on an official visit to the UAE.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the visiting President, wishing him success in leading brotherly Lebanon to achieve stability, development, and prosperity for its people, and for Lebanon to regain its prominent position within its Arab, regional, and international environment.
The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest and exchanged views on them, stressing the need to work together to strengthen stability and peace in the region for the benefit of all its peoples. During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed stressed that the relations between the UAE and Lebanon are historic and that the Emirati and Lebanese people are bound together by bonds of love, appreciation, and mutual respect.
Sheikh Mohamed noted that the reopening of the UAE Embassy in Beirut embodies the UAE's commitment to supporting Lebanon and its aspirations for a new phase of fruitful relations between the two countries.
Sheikh Mohamed also emphasized the UAE's supportive stance in strengthening Lebanese state institutions and their role in preserving the country's sovereignty, security, and stability, in addition to supporting Lebanon's unity and territorial integrity.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said via the X platform: "Today in Abu Dhabi, I discussed with President Joseph Aoun ways to develop the historical, fraternal relations between the UAE and Lebanon, which will benefit the two countries and their brotherly peoples. Its unwavering approach is to promote peace and stability in the region for the benefit of all its peoples."
