SSMC launches recovery clinic for cancer survivors

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), one of the largest hospitals in the UAE specialising in complex and critical care and a subsidiary of PureHealth Group, announced on Tuesday the launch of the Post-Illness Recovery and Comprehensive Care Clinic which aims to support cancer survivors in addressing the challenges they face after completing their treatment journey.

The clinic represents a significant step in post-cancer recovery care, offering a holistic and supportive environment that addresses patients' physical and psychological needs.

It adopts a multidisciplinary approach, staffed by a qualified medical team including oncologists, internists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and mental health specialists, according to Dr Abdulqader Al Masa’abi, Chief Medical Officer at SSMC. He added that the launch of the clinic is a qualitative leap in enhancing our specialised oncology and clinical care services.
