His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Department of Social Services reconsider its decision to terminate social assistance for a citizen named "Umm Khalifa" even if she got married.
The assistance is for her orphans, and it is important to ensure their well-being. His Highness directed that the assistance be restored to her retroactively, as it had unfortunately been stopped three months ago.
His Highness responded to a citizen who called the "Direct Line" program with media figure Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcaste Authority. The citizen had seven orphans and was receiving Dhs7,500 from social services. However, her assistance was interrupted due to her second marriage, which unfortunately did not succeed. She subsequently divorced.
She explained that her late husband, the father of the orphans, was employed by the Sharjah Police General Command, and that his retirement salary was Dhs11,000.
She was not aware that she was entitled to supplementary assistance on his salary, which His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah had ordered for everyone, as her deceased husband was married to another woman, who is not currently in the country.
His Highness promptly directed that the Human Resources Department address the matter. Through the "Direct Line," Abdullah Al Zaabi, Head of the Department, reassured all Sharjah government employees, both those currently working and those who have retired or passed away, that their rights are fully protected. He also emphasized that the issue of the citizen Umm Khalifa will be given due attention and resolved as soon as possible.
On the other hand, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah directed the Sharjah Private Education Authority to speed up resolving issue of man who sought help through the "Direct Line" programme, facilitate the enrollment of his two daughters, "Hala and Ghala," in school.
His Highness also directed that the Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah consider a proposal to the "Direct Line" to provide additional parking spaces in front of the Sharq Cemetery in Khorfakkan, and to open a road from behind it.
