Distracted motorists to be fined Dhs800, say Abu Dhabi Police

As part of the Path of Safety 2 campaign, Abu Dhabi Police, in co-operation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, posted a video of an accident caused by distraction from the road and lack of attention during a sudden stop of traffic.

They warned drivers of the dangers of distraction due to using the phone to browse the internet and social media sites, make calls, take photos and other behaviours that might lead to serious traffic accidents.

Abu Dhabi Police stated that drivers distracted from the road in any way would be slapped with a fine of Dhs800 plus four black points.
