‘Ramadan Nights’ exhibition kicks off at Expo Centre Sharjah

The 41st edition of “Ramadan Nights 2024” exhibition, organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), will kick off on Thursday.

The exhibition features discounts of up to 75 percent covering thousands of products showcased by over 200 key retailers and around 500 international and local brands.

The diversity of products and alluring discounts, which will be available up until Eid Al Fitr throughout a 21-day period, make shopping during Ramadan evenings a delightful and captivating experience for families and shoppers from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Anticipated to draw over 150,000 attendees from Sharjah’s residents and visitors, the exhibition comes within the framework of the 34th edition of the “Sharjah Ramadan Festival”, which encompasses a spectrum of activities and events, including entertainment shows alongside cultural and heritage-themed programmes.

Attendees also have the chance to win valuable prizes in raffle draws and open competitions held throughout the exhibition.

Additionally, visitors can indulge in a remarkable gastronomic experience at a restaurant lounge, featuring stalls that offer popular delicacies covering a myriad of cuisines and flavours from around the world.

Spanning over 16,000 metres, the exhibition serves as a prime opportunity to accelerate the UAE’s retail sales growth, offering visitors access to competitive offers, special promotions and enticing discounts on a wide variety of products. These include apparel, sports gear, artisanal products, traditional and heritage handicrafts, electrical appliances, groceries, and culinary delights.

Standing out as a favoured destination perfectly suited to the whole family, the “Ramadan Nights 2024” exhibition caters to various community needs and preferences. It features the Heritage Village that showcases a diverse array of traditional attire, tools, handicrafts, incense, beverages, and popular Ramadan delicacies.

The exhibition also features a children’s corner that offers a variety of entertaining activities and fun games for young visitors, fostering a vibrant festive ambience that accompanies Ramadan nights and families’ preparations for Eid.

Separately, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently inaugurated the “Souq Al Freej” Ramadan market, as part of the 34th edition of Sharjah Ramadan Festival.

The initiative, which is held at Sharjah National Park and runs until 4th April, emphasises the Chamber’s commitment to bolstering small and medium-sized ventures and supporting productive families, offering them a unique platform to showcase and market their products.

The opening ceremony was graced by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, chairman of SCCI, and Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah City Municipal Council (SCMC), alongside several members of the Sharjah Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Also present were Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, and Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector in SCCI, as well as Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at SCCI and General Coordinator of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival.

This commercial gathering brings together a diverse array of small and medium-sized businesses’ owners, productive families, and entrepreneurs showcasing a variety of fashion, food, and accessories inspired by Emirati heritage.

Additionally, the event features a diverse range of products and merchandise tailored to meet Ramadan shoppers’ preferences. The market also includes shopping stalls (booths) for participants to display and market their products, as well as a heritage village, a restaurant lounge serving local and traditional cuisine, and entertainment activities and games for children.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais emphasised that the inauguration of the “Souq Al Freej” Ramadan market exemplifies a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors to organize innovative marketing initiatives that contribute to bolstering trade activity across the Sharjah Emirate, reinforcing its stature as a unique tourist destination.
