The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued an administrative closure notice to ‘Al Nidham Restaurant’ with the licence number CN-1038631 for violating the Food Law No. 2 of 2008 and the regulations made thereunder, and for posing a risk to public health.

The Authority stated that the decision to shut down the restaurant was made due to repeated violations of food safety requirements. It was given a warning and slapped with two fines for high-risk violations, notably an infestation of insects in the kitchen

The closure will remain in effect until the reasons for it no longer exist. Once the violations have been corrected, all necessary requirements have been met, and the reasons for closure have been removed, the activity may resume, ADFSA added.

The detected and addressed violations came as part of the Authority’s inspection efforts to enhance the food safety system in Abu Dhabi. It regulates and ensures that establishments comply with food safety requirements. The Authority's inspectors conduct periodic inspections of all establishments to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
