The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued an administrative closure notice to ‘Al Ayham Meat’ butchery with the trade licence number CN-4292741, and ‘Al Amal’ butchery with the trade licence number CN-4860828, both locate in Mushrif Mall-Abu Dhabi, for violating the Food Law No.2 of 2008 and the regulations made thereunder, and for posing a risk to public health.

The Authority stated that the decision to shut down the establishments was made due to repeated violations of food safety requirements. The two establishments were given warnings and slapped with fines for high-risk violations, including selling imported meat as local meat and having a cockroach infestation.

Meanwhile, the Food Safety Authority has also shut down Save Way Supermarket with licence number CN-4314510 in Khalidiya area due to repeated high-risk violations such as expired food products being displayed on the shelves. The closure will remain in effect until the reasons for it no longer exist. Once the violations have been corrected, all necessary requirements have been met, and the reasons for closure have been removed, the activity may resume, ADFSA added.

The detected and addressed violations came as part of the Authority’s inspection efforts to enhance the food safety system in Abu Dhabi. It regulates and ensures that establishments comply with food safety requirements.

The Authority's inspectors conduct periodic inspections of all establishments to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
