As part of the 'Ramadan in Dubai' campaign, which has been launched under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Council, over 1.2 million meals will be served daily at Iftar sites across Dubai during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

This campaign aims at concerting efforts of the government and private sectors in celebrating Ramadan and highlighting the festive traditions that adorn the emirate with the advent of the Holy Month.

Mohammed Musabeh Dahi, The Acting Executive Director for Charity of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD), stated that the Department is organising the 'Your Iftar in Dubai' initiative throughout Ramadan at the authorised Iftar sites across the emirate.

“The Department aims to distribute 1.2 million Iftar meals daily at approximately 1,450 sites across the emirate this Ramadan within the charity activities offered by it. This year, the Department issued 1,200 permits for distributing Iftar meals,” Dahi added.

Thousands of workers were present at Iftar sites and received prizes and in-kind gifts from various government and private entities. The IACAD, Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Health Authority, Dubai Ambulance, Labour Committee, and others conducted awareness and educational workshops, as well as religious lectures, showcasing their expertise and commitment to the community.

The ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ campaign showcases the festive celebrations that take place in the emirate during the Holy Month. In the same time, IACAD affirms its commitment to emphasising its societal role and responsibility by joining charitable and humanitarian initiatives at the UAE level, as well as achieving a leading position and promoting a tolerant Islamic approach.
