Abu Dhabi closes public parks and beaches due to unstable weather conditions

The Abu Dhabi Municipality decided to close all parks and beaches in the city temporarily because of the rain to preserve safety of the visitors.

On its social media account, the Abu Dhabi Municipality said, “Due to the expected unstable weather conditions and fluctuations, and to preserve the safety of the community, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality announces the closure of all Abu Dhabi parks and beaches, starting today, Friday, March 8, 2024, until the weather conditions end and stabilise.”

The UAE is expecting severe weather conditions from Friday evening, March 8, until noon on Sunday, March 10, bringing heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning, thunder, and occasional hailstorms.

The authorities said that some UAE schools will close and shift to remote learning due to adverse weather conditions and that the decision will be taken by the emergency and crisis management teams in each of the affected emirates.
