Ras Al Khaimah Customs seizes 470 narcotic pills in traveller’s possession

The Ras Al Khaimah Customs have caught an individual who arrived from an Asian country for attempting to smuggle 470 narcotic pills, which were discovered in the traveller's possession by the customs inspectors.

The inspectors' high sense of security enabled them to detect the smuggling attempt, Mohammed Abdullah Al Mahrezi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Customs said.

Based on their suspicions of the traveller's action, the inspectors referred the traveler for thorough inspection, resulting in the discovery of the seized items, he added.

As part of the joint coordination between Ras Al Khaimah Customs and the Anti-Narcotics Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters, the traveller was handed over with the seized items, Al Mehrezi added.

The Anti-Narcotics Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police expressed gratitude to the Ras Al Khaimah Customs personnel for their crucial role in safeguarding the community's security. The Customs personnel's unwavering commitment to preventing harmful scourges is highly valued and recognized.
