Police officers manage traffic during heavy rain in Sharjah.

The Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management (ECDM) team in Sharjah has started reopening roads, returning traffic to normal, and helping affected families return home. This is after their continuous efforts to control the impact of rainwater caused by the weather conditions.

The team praised the country's security and civilian entities for their integrated efforts and joint cooperation. This resulted in containing the situation in the cities of the Eastern Region and contributed to preserving lives.

The team coordinated with several partners, including the General Authority for Civil Defence, Sharjah City Municipality, Kalba Municipality, Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Department of Social Services, Emergency Housing Department, Kalba Hospital, Emirates Transport, Emirates Schools Establishment, Emirates Red Crescent, and Sharjah Charity International.

The plan aimed to handle the weather situation promptly and safely. The focus was on a series of shelter operations in the eastern regions. These operations resulted in sheltering about 173 families, including more than 1010 people whose homes were damaged by heavy rains. 528 members of the security services, 621 field staff of municipalities and other authorities, 55 police patrols and security vehicles, and 321 heavy vehicles for municipalities and participating authorities participated in securing safe shelters for them. The heavy vehicles included tankers, water pumps, and several heavy duty vehicles.
