Sharjah announces distance learning for Monday in all schools and universities due to unstable weather

The Sharjah emergency, crisis and disaster management team decided to activate the distance learning system in all private schools and higher education institutions in the emirate.

The authorities have stopped all competitions and sports activities organized by the Sharjah Sports Council on Monday due to unstable weather condition the country is witnessing in order to preserve safety. The general public, male and female students and players in sports clubs of various age groups must abide by the decision issued by the authorities.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported that the upper air depression has started to deepen and would affect the UAE from Sunday until next Tuesday.

The NCM called on motorists to be cautious while driving during rainfall, and also advised people to stay away from places where water accumulates and flows through valleys.

The police called on motorists to be cautious during rains, and to adhere to the variable speed limits shown on signs and electronic information boards.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) stressed the readiness of the concerned authorities to deal with the depression, and to take all necessary proactive measures and plans which will be activated after studying and evaluating the situation and its consequences.
