An Asian woman attempted to kill her boyfriend inside his home because she believed he had an affair with another woman, then she reported her crime to the police.

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced her to 6 months in jail, to be followed by deportation after serving her jail term and confiscated the knife used in the crime.

The crime took place in August 2023 inside an apartment in the Al Muraqqabat area in Dubai, when the suspect reported to the police that her Arab friend had been stabbed, adding that she had seen him talking to another woman via a video app even though he was in a relationship with her.

The suspect added in the interrogations that she asked him about the woman he was communicating with and tried to get his phone to make sure he had no relation with her but he refused, hung up the call, and assaulted her.

She reportedly took a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill him if he did not stop assaulting her.

She added that the victim continued to slap her in the face and hit her with his hands, so she stabbed him several times while he tried to escape and then fell on his back near the door of the house.

She then reported the incident to the police and called an ambulance, where he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim stated in the interrogations that he had an affair with the suspect and on the day of the incident, while he was talking to his sister, she entered and accused him of having an affair with another woman.

She then asked to check his phone, but he refused, so she became angry and took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him several times.

She allegedly called the police after she saw one of the neighbours photographing the incident.

The forensic report stated that the victim sustained 3 stab wounds to the left and right sides of the chest and his left forearm using a knife, and that the stab wound to the chest was deep and strong, penetrating the entire chest wall and hitting the thoracic viscera, causing bleeding which compressed the heart and pulmonary arteries and required treatment for more than 20 days.
