Lebanese professor Niveen Khashab named Great Arab Minds winner in Natural Sciences

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday announced Professor Niveen Khashab as the winner of the Great Arab Minds Award-2023 in Natural Sciences. Professor Khashab is an Associate Dean of Physical Sciences and Engineering Division and Professor of Chemistry at KAUST - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Congratulating Professor Niveen Khashab on “X” platform, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We would like to congratulate Professor Nevine Khashab on winning the Great Arab Minds Award-2023 in Natural Science. Professor Khashab has presented over 275 scientific research papers and publications inorganic chemistry and nanotechnology.”

He continued, “Professor Niveen’s outstanding contributions to the development of healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, and environmental sectors have significantly benefited humanity. She is an Associate Dean of Physical Sciences and Engineering Division and Professor of Chemistry at KAUST - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Professor Niveen Khashab has been awarded the 2023 Great Arab Minds Award in Natural Science for her outstanding contributions to the development, synthesis, and application of nanomaterials in healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, and environmental sectors. With over 275 scientific research papers and publications inorganic chemistry and nanotechnology.

Professor Niveen's work focuses on understanding molecular interactions and self-assembly to prepare and comprehend nano-assemblies. Her significant work in the smart encapsulation of drugs, proteins, and genetic materials greatly contributes to the burgeoning fields of personalized medicine and anti-aging.

Professor Niveen's research is centered on designing nanoparticles with variable porosity, which aids in the advancement of personalized healthcare by ensuring treatments are specifically tailored to individual patient needs.
