Sheikh Sultan receives FNC’s members in Sharjah, meets CEO of RIBA

Sheikh Sultan holds talks with the members of the Emirate of Sharjah in the Federal National Council at Al Badi Palace.

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Monday received members of the Emirate of Sharjah in the Federal National Council at Al Badi Palace.

During the meeting, Sheikh Sultan discussed the importance of the member’s presence in social circles, being one with citizens, partaking in various occasions, knowing their needs, and deliver them in a manner that befits the status and role of the member in the Federal National Council.

The members were pleased by the directives of Sheikh Sultan and his continuous support in enhancing the positive participation of citizens in decision-making through the parliament, praising the great and distinguished level of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and congratulating His Highness on the success of the council’s electoral process, in which the percentage of participation in voting reached 87 %.

CEO of RIBA: Separately, Sheikh Sultan also welcomed Dr Valerie Vaughan, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), at Al Badi Palace on Monday.

He affirmed Sharjah's strong ties with various professional institutes, scientific institutions, and universities in the UK, fostering development and knowledge exchange.

The meeting delved into enhancing performance in architectural engineering, contributing to urban development and preserving city aesthetics. Specialists play crucial roles in maintaining the urban landscape and conserving architectural heritage in urban planning.

Sheikh Sultan, was briefed during the meeting on the plans of the Royal Institute of British Architects, including its efforts to develop professionals in the field of architecture, organise conferences, seminars, and meetings. Additionally, they discussed the institute's future plans, external relations, and collaborations with various entities.

Valerie Vaughan extended her gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh SUltan, the Ruler of Sharjah, for the gracious reception.

She highlighted her admiration for the advancements, educational initiatives, and knowledge she observed in Sharjah, which have elevated its esteemed and pioneering status across diverse domains.

Additionally, she commended the emirate for its environmentally conscious architectural design, commitment to sustainability, ongoing collaborations with global universities and organisations, and its successful progress in enhancing the fields of architecture, engineering, and related professions.
