Sharjah Ruler pardons 475 prisoners on the UAE’s 52nd Union Day

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 475 prisoners from punitive and correctional institutions in Sharjah ahead of the UAE’s 52nd Union Day.
The inmates of various nationalities were selected based on good conduct and behaviour.
The gesture is part of the Sharjah Ruler's keenness to give prisoners an opportunity to start a new life and bring joy to their families.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Ruler, expressing his hope that this gesture will give the pardoned prisoners a chance to get back to their families and reintegrate positively into society.
