Heavy vehicles banned on some roads in Abu Dhabi during rush hours

The GHQ of Abu Dhabi Police have announced that heavy vehicles will be banned on Sweihan Road towards Al Shawamekh passing through Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Street to the Truck Bridge 'Mussafah' in both directions, during the morning and evening rush hours, starting from Monday, November 13, 2023. The move is part of efforts aimed at ensuring the flow of traffic and reducing accidents that can be caused by vehicles.

Traffic will be prohibited during morning peak times from 6:30 to 9:00 am and evening peak times from 3:00 to 6:00 pm The Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists not to use those roads during the mentioned periods and to use the alternative road as shown in the illustrative map from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street towards Zayed Military City Roundabout through Al Adla Road to Al Rawda Road (Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Truck Road).

They are also advised to abide by traffic regulations, as control is tightened over roads by smart systems to monitor violations.
