Abu Dhabi Court for Family, Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a person to pay another Dhs7,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages he incurred, as he disturbed him by sending too many messages on a social media platform.

The details date back to an earlier time when a person filed a lawsuit against another, requesting that he be obligated to pay him Dhs30,000 for the damages he incurred, as well as obligating him to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.

The appellant explained that the appellee disturbed him by sending him too many messages via a social media platform.

The appellant added that a criminal case was filed over the incident, and the court convicted the appellee, fined him Dhs3,000 and ordered the confiscation of the means he used in the crime.

The appellee was not satisfied with the verdict, so he appealed it, and the court accepted the appeal in form, but upheld the appealed verdict.

The court explained that the case papers proved that the appellee made a mistake and disturbed the appellant, according to what was established in the penal verdict, and that the appellant incurred material and moral damages.

Then the court obligated the appellee to pay Dhs7,000 to the appellant in compensation for all damages.
