A UAE national was killed while another was injured in a road accident that took place near the intersection of bridges in the Shamal area of Ras Al Khaimah early on Thursday morning.

Colonel Mohammed Al Bahhar, Acting Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, explained that the accident occurred after the car they were travelling in swerved before it crashed into a signboard on Shaml Street.

The car flipped over, leading to the death of one and injuries to another, Colonel Al Bahhar added. Patrols and national ambulance immediately rushed to the scene of the accident, and transferred the driver and his companion to the hospital, where the latter underwent resuscitation attempts, but he succumbed to his critical injuries, Colonel Al Bahhar added.

He also confirmed that the driver's condition was stable.The competent authorities took over the accident file, to complete the procedures that followed.
