Dubai Police launch 'COP28UAE Adventures' game

Major General Ghaith Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic and Training Affairs at the Dubai Police, has officially launched the "COP28UAE Adventures" game in anticipation of the UAE hosting the activities of (COP28) from Nov.30 to Dec.12, 2023.

Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, the Director of the General Department of Training, stated that the game aligns with the efforts of Dubai Police to support COP28, as its success is a collective national responsibility.

The game aims to raise awareness and encourage community members to take action to conserve nature, address climate change, and ensure a sustainable future.

Brigadier Ahmed Mardas, Deputy Director of the General Department of Training, stressed that the game is not merely an entertaining thing, but an educational tool that addresses major environmental issues.

He explained that the game was developed by the Virtual Technology Centre at the General Training Department of Dubai Police, noting that this initiative translates the Dubai Police's commitment to community contributions.

The game is available on Apple Store, Google Play, and Huawei platforms. It comes in six languages: Arabic, English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Chinese, which are the official languages of the United Nations.

“Protecting our planet for the present and future generations is a global responsibility led by the UAE,” Brigadier Mardas added.

On his part, Colonel Dr. Mansoor Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the Virtual Technology Centre, noted that there are 2.6 billion people globally playing video games, with an increasing number interested in the environment and its preservation.

A report from the United Nations Environment Programme stated that video games could engage billions in finding solutions to social and environmental challenges. Thus, Dubai Police launched the COP28UAE Adventures game to enahnce awareness of the environmental issues.
