Damascus and Aleppo airports are out of service after Israeli raids on Syria

An Israeli bombing targeted the airports of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the city of Aleppo in the north of the country, according to Syrian official television, which put them temporarily out of service.

A news correspondent for the Syrian Al-Ikhbariya channel said, “Israeli raids targeted Damascus and Aleppo airports,” noting that the raids come while Israel is waging a war that broke out as a result of an attack launched by Hamas last Saturday, which led to thousands of deaths.

Hamas killed at least hundreds of Israelis and kidnapped dozens of hostages in Saturday's attacks, the bloodiest of their kind in decades, prompting Israel to respond by bombing the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Israel is intensively bombing the Gaza Strip, which has a population of about 2.3 million people, in response to the unprecedented attack launched by the movement. The war has so far resulted in 1,300 deaths in Israel, most of them civilians, while at least 1,350 people were killed in the Gaza Strip.
