The UAE will launch the most advanced satellite in the region in 2024 named after Mohamed Bin Zayed, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai announced on Monday.

Sheikh Hamdan said, “I chaired the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre’s Board of Directors meeting today, during which we emphasized key messages outlining the details of our future projects.

“First message: The next stage will witness qualitative Emirati projects in the space sector.

“Second message: We want to be a major player in shaping the future of space exploration.

“Third message: Our goal is always new innovations to raise the name of the Emirates and quality projects that serve humanity.

We have major milestones in our journey towards embracing the stars.”

Sheikh Hamdan also said that in 2024, astronauts Mohammed Al-Mulla and Noura Al-Matroushi would graduate, ready to undertake new space missions.
“In 2024, we will launch the most advanced satellite in the region... a satellite named after Mohamed Bin Zayed.
“Our efforts to reach the moon continue through the “Rashid 2 Explorer” mission.

“We are still at the beginning of the road... and the best is yet to come for the Emirati space exploration journey.”
