Trucks, buses banned from entering Abu Dhabi Island on Oct.2

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police announced that entry of trucks, heavy vehicles and buses transporting workers to Abu Dhabi Island, including entrances and (Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Mussafah Bridge and Maqta Bridge) would be prohibited on Monday (Oct.2), from 6:00 am until 12:00 pm.

This will be coinciding with the launch of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) 2023.

Vehicles of public cleaning companies and logistical support vehicles are excluded from the ban decision, Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate said.

He pointed out that traffic patrols would be deployed on all roads. “Moreover, traffic control would be intensified through smart systems in order to ensure traffic flow,” he added

Brigadier Al Balushi called on motorists in general to cooperate with the authorities in enhancing efforts by adhering to traffic laws to ensure traffic safety.
