UAE President all praise for splendid success of ADIHEX

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday attended the 20th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Organised by the Emirates Falconers’ Club and running from 2nd to 8th September, this year’s event is being held under the theme ‘Sustainability and Heritage, a Reborn Aspiration’.

During a tour of the exhibition, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed was briefed on the participation of several local and international pavilions, as well as the latest technologies and equipment being showcased for hunting and equestrian sports.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed engaged in conversation with several of the exhibitors, discussing the significance of their participation and the important role they play in safeguarding the existence of traditional sports.His Highness the President emphasised the UAE’s keenness to preserve its cultural heritage and promote its national identity.

He pointed out the UAE’s commitment to continue its significant contributions and initiatives in protecting a shared human heritage, which is considered a vital legacy for future generations and a bridge for cultural exchange and communication between different cultures and peoples.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed praised the theme of this year’s exhibition and its objectives in addressing environmental issues and sustainability, alongside promoting sustainable hunting methods.

He commended the efforts of the organising committee, supporters, and partners in the success of the 2023 event and throughout its 20-year history.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Presidential Court; Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) and Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee - Abu Dhabi; and Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of ADIHEX; along with several senior officials.

Al Dahra and Al Marzoom join forces to conserve desert wildlife: Al Dahra, an Abu Dhabi-based global company in the agricultural sector, has signed a partnership agreement with Al Marzoom Reserve, a unique wildlife reserve that covers an area of 923 square kilometres in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to enhance the conservation of local species of flora and fauna, like the desert rabbit, antelopes, Houbara Bustards and the Karawan (a small desert bird also known as Stone Curlew).

The partnership signed at ADIHEX between Al Dahra and Al Marzoom Reserve aims to conserve the UAE’s desert wildlife and promote sustainable development in the region. Al Dahra will provide financial and technical support to Al Marzoom Reserve to help it implement its conservation programs.

Al Dahra and Al Marzoom are taking a significant step forward in conserving the natural environment in Abu Dhabi.

At the signing, Ahmed Sultan Obaid Hayai Al Mansoori, Director of the Al Marzoom Hunting Reserve, said, “Our mission is to preserve our heritage, our precious plants and wildlife, aid in its growth and act as stewards for the next generations of Emiratis to grow in this tradition of harmony with nature. We are glad to have a partner like Al Dahra who believes in these values and is committed to supporting us in our mission.”

The partnership between Al Dahra and Al Marzoom is a significant step forward in conserving the natural environment in Abu Dhabi. The two organisations are committed to working together to protect the region’s unique wildlife and preserve its natural heritage for future generations.
