Social media activists circulated a video of an Egyptian woman celebrating her divorce from her husband in her own way.

The woman, who was standing behind a large cake with the words "Happy divorce. Congratulations on the divorce," said in the video that it was the day she ended the marriage contract, so she decided to celebrate the occasion, stressing that she was not sad because the reason for the divorce was marital infidelity, which she does not accept at all.

She continued, "I wanted to celebrate the happy occasion, and partied and distributed gold souvenirs. I am a crazy and nervous Aries."

Egypt witnesses controversies from time to time about holding "divorce parties", which started from the circles described as "the circles of the rich", but quickly spread to different social circles.

The number of divorce cases in Egypt in 2021 reached about 245,000 cases, according to the report of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, an increase of 13% compared to 2020, when it reached 222,000 cases.

The number of official marriages in 2020 reached about 876,000 marriage contracts, and in 2021 it rose to 880,000 marriage contracts, according to the report.
