Abu Dhabi shuts down a restaurant for selling non-halal food without a permit

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has administratively shut down “Birat Manila Restaurant in Abu Dhabi, for violating Law No. (2) of 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the legislation issued thereunder, as well as for its danger to public health.
The administrative closure decision came due to that the aforementioned restaurant was monitored selling non-halal food without obtaining the necessary permits, in addition to storing and preparing it with the same equipment and tools used to prepare halal food without separating it from other foods.
ADAFSA also stated that the administrative closure would continue as long as its reasons exist.
The restaurant will be allowed to operate again after correcting its conditions and meeting all the requirements necessary to practice its activity. In addition, it must replace equipment, clean and sterilize the facility completely before reopening to the public.
ADFSA appealed to the public to contact it, and to report any violations detected in any food establishment or when the contents of the food item are suspected by calling the toll-free 800555, so that the inspectors take the necessary action.
