His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, confirmed that the elderly enjoy free integrated treatment services at the University Hospital, starting with the delivery service from home to the hospital and vice versa, directly personally ordering that the elderly have special treatment in the hospital, from their arrival until their discharge.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan’s orders came in an intervention via the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority’s Direct Line, saying: “I heard the intervention of Umm Khalid, and she has health insurance from Al Buhairah  Insurance Company, through her son who is an employee of the Sharjah government, and she is complaining about the fees she pays for treatment using this insurance.”

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, continued: “We have, in the Emirate of Sharjah, full free treatment for the elderly, without going to any insurance company, so we will cancel the health insurance card of Umm Khalid, issued by the Buhairah Insurance Company, and her treatment will be transferred to the elderly system at the University Hospital where the elderly receive special treatment, by a direct order from me personally, to be treated with the best treatment, starting from the reception at the hospital door through all the treatment details until their discharge, and the elderly are also provided with a free delivery service from home to the hospital and vice versa, and that is done through the Social Services Department and the Sharjah Police General Command. The hospital also includes a well experienced medical team from South Korea specialising in joint aspiration and other technical treatments that are not found in many hospitals.”

Separately, His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approved the applications of 82 students to the Sharjah Maritime Academy (SMA) in Khorfakkan, 62 of whom received a scholarship, and the rest received a 30 percent discount on fees.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan also directed continuing to accept students’ applications, especially those who completed the national service.
