VIDEO: Robbers use forklift to steal an ATM machine in California

In a brazen robbery, thieves used an industrial forklift to uproot and steal an ATM machine in California.

The incident took place in Sacramento.

Police have released the video footage of the crime.

The video showed a suspect using a forklift to detached the ATM off its platform. He then used the forklift to lift the machine to load into on to a pickup truck waiting on the side of the road.

However, the suspect’s first attempt was a fail as he dropped the ATM from the forklift.

The man on the second attempt managed to haul the ATM on the back of the pickup truck.

The truck then speeds away from the scene.

The suspect driving the forklift also disappears from the scene.  

Sacramento County Police said that the robbers attacked the SAFE Credit Union ATM on Watt Avenue near Margaret Way around 6am Wednesday.

The police also said that the suspects donned construction gear to avoid raising suspicion from nearby house.

It was also revealed that the forklift used in the crime scene was also stolen from an industrial yard.   

The police said that the suspects took the money and ditched the ATM in the road causing traffic jam and collision.

The police have launched a manhunt for the robbers.

No arrest has been made as of Tuesday.

Using a forklift to steal an ATM is a method that has been employed by criminals in various instances. Criminals have been known to use heavy machinery like forklifts or construction equipment to forcibly remove ATMs from their locations.
