A replacement request for the Emirates ID card will be generated automatically, when a customer applies for modification of data of his/her residency, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) said.

The ICP made available to customers through its smart channels via the website and smart application the service of modifying residency data, according to which the entered residence data such as “current personal information, profession modification, modification of current passport information, or change of nationality in the event of obtaining a new nationality” can by changed. 

It explained that customers could use the service through several methods, including the website (www.icp.gov.ae) or the UAEICP smart application by logging in via UAE PASS or with the user name. Find the service to be applied for, fill out the data where applicable and pay service fees, or visit customer happiness centers to apply, or visit typing offices authorized by the ICP.

The documents required to apply for the service are a recent colored photo, a copy of the passport, a request to modify the data signed by the sponsor, and a copy of the Emirates ID card (front and back).

The ICP also added that the application fee for the service of modifying residency data is Dhs200, which includes Dhs100 for smart services, Dhs50 for application fees, Dhs50 for electronic services and federal authority fees.

The application is rejected electronically after 30 days, in the event that it is returned due to data deficiencies or failure to complete the required documents. It is also declined if it is returned three times, due to data deficiencies or failure to complete the required documents.

Only issuance fees and financial guarantees - if any - are refunded in the event that the application is rejected.

The ICP pointed out that the fees are refunded to credit card within a period not exceeding six months from the date of submitting the application, or refunded by the procedures followed to recover fees by cheque or bank transfer - for banks located within the country only - and within a period not exceeding five years. The rules and regulations are subject to change without notice.
