Sharjah Police Friends Programme helps children's ambition to serve nation

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed on Thursday, the graduation of the participants of the 36th Summer Course for Police Friends and the 5th for Police Female Friends, at the Culture Palace.

Following the rendition of the UAE national anthem and recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran, police friend Khalifa Ahmed Al Mazrouei delivered a speech on behalf of his male and female graduate colleagues, in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership in the Emirate of Sharjah for supporting and caring for young people in various programmes, which contributes to the development of their talents and capabilities, develops their personalities and prepares them for the future.

In his speech, Al Mazrouei addressed the importance of the programme, in acquiring security skills, in occupying leisure time and benefiting from various aspects of health, physical and sports, correcting many wrong behaviours, and introducing associates to many concepts about loving the homeland and working to protect it and preserve society.

The audience watched a visual presentation that included the most important features of the programme at the level of sports activities and events, and training, which showed the great enthusiasm of its members. After that, a number of graduates presented a distinguished military show, in which they highlighted the most important things they learned and trained throughout the programme.

Police friends Mahmoud Haitham and Mustafa Ahmed presented a discussion that dealt with the use of free time in positive thinking, which included the importance of developing comprehensive and integrated programmes during the long summer vacation and free time in general, to include reading and useful hobbies.

After that, the audience watched a visual material that dealt with the "story of a child" who loved police work and her ambition became to serve the country by joining the summer session of the Police Friends Programme, so that her dream of graduating from university and proudly joining the police.

The graduates concluded the ceremony with a combat show, in which they highlighted the various skills they had been trained throughout the programme.

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi honoured the sponsors of the programme who contributed to the success of this year's session, namely: Emirates Transport, Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, and Sharjah Self-defence Sports Club.

Sheikh Sultan also took souvenir photos with the summer session work team, and with the members of the Friends of the Police Programme.

The four-week Police Friends Summer Programme, organised by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Sharjah Police General Command, in cooperation with the Sharjah Police Academy, aims to raise the level of students’ acquired skills and enhance loyalty and national belonging through various military courses and trainings that contribute to building personality at an early stage with a set of future knowledge that has a positive impact on shaping their personalities and developing their sense of responsibility as ambassadors of the police who contribute to spreading security awareness in their surroundings.

The honouring ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al-Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy, senior police officers and parents of graduate students.
