Dubai Public Prosecution referred a 17-year-old juvenile to the Juvenile Court, for setting fire to a motorcycle belonging to a delivery company after he had stolen it in complicity with another. The latter was referred to the misdemeanor court.

They reportedly stole the bike when it was being parked nearby a restaurant. The accused juvenile drove it to another area, accompanied by the other, where he pulled out the bike's petrol tube and burned it. Thus, the accused juvenile was referred to a Juvenile Care Center to be placed under judicial probation.

Bashaer Issa Al Hammadi, Assistant Chief Prosecutor, said that a delivery worker reported to the police that his motorbike had been stolen. He explained that while he was parking the bike, the defendants came and asked him to show the way to one area. He informed them and left the bike with its key in it, before entering the restaurant to take an order to deliver it to a customer. But, when he returned, did not find the bike, so he called the police.

Later on, the operations room received information that a motorcycle had burned near location of the aforementioned theft, Al Hammdai added.

The security teams were able to identify and locate defendants, who were arrested and interrogated.

They admitted that they had stolen the motorbike that was parked next a restaurant and burned it in a nearby area, after wandering by it there. The major defendant admitted that he had pulled the petrol pipe of the bicycle and set fire to it.

The Public Prosecution advises parents to keep their eyes on their children and follow them up, so that they are good people in the society. They are also urged to observe their behaviour and educate them about the seriousness of delinquent behaviour, as well as the need to be aware of the law.
